More Timbers Return

Last week we received a lorry load of timbers back from York Archaeological Trust, who have kindly been freeze drying them. We were joined by the scout leaders from 29th Newport Sea Scouts and the community champion at Tesco Spytty Community.

Timbers awaiting loading on to the lorry at York.

Once back at the Ship Centre, timbers were carefully unloaded and catalogued, giving volunteers a rare opportunity to get close up view before being placed into the store.

Many thanks to all who leant a hand on the day, #newportship #newportnews #visitwales #skillsforlife #volunteers #tescospytty.

In the coming months we have a series of talks and presentations planned. You can find more information on our Talks and Events page.

Other recent news the lease on the Ship Centre premises has been renewed by Newport City Council for a further 5 years.
