Talk: Ye Mary Fortune – by David James

As part of the clebrations surrounding the Royal Commission (RCAHMW) exhibition of WW1 and the U-Boat war around Wales, the Friends of Newport Ship have included this talk on medieval ship design and construction.

From ‘Ye Mary Fortune’ to Henri’s ‘Grâce à Dieu’, the high seas and the ships which rode them have played a key role in writing European history. In this talk, author David James explores not only the 14th and 15th-century construction and naval actions of such vessels, but also the political and economic factors which developed their form.

David will have available copies of his book for sale.
