Volunteer General

The Ship Centre is an industrial warehouse unit that houses the working Ship project.  So as you can imagine being an active archaeology & conservation facility keeping it clean and tidy for our visitors requires everyone to lend a hand.

The big jobs are the floor, which needs mopping most weeks, the kitchen area and the toilets which need a attending to before we can open to the public.  On top of that we have the displays and the cabin (our retail store) to keep ship shape.  And from time to time DIY/handymen skills come in useful.

While these jobs may not sound too exciting they are essential to being able to open the Ship Centre to visitors.

So whether you have a lot of time or only a little if you are interested in getting involved why not get in touch with us either via our contact form or e-mail, details are on our contact us page.
